Athi P. Venkatesh MD
Dr. Venkatesh graduated from one of the most prestigious medical schools in India. His passion for medicine started at a very young age. Soon, he was interested in Psychiatry, the branch of medicine that deals with the most important organ of our body - BRAIN. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Scott & White Hospital - Texas A&M university in 2004. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and he is a Diplomate in American Board Of Psychiatry & Neurology. He has been in private practice since 2004. Dr. Venkatesh also serves adult and adolescents in need of acute care at Cypress Creek Hospital and Kingwood Pines Hospital. He does ECT at Cypress Creek Hospital.

Ayanna Brown MD
Dr. Brown is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She knew early in training that she planned to go into Psychiatry and that her passion was to work with children. With these interests, she specialized her training with a fellowship in Child And Adolescent Psychiatry at The Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Dr. Brown is Board Certified in Psychiatry and is a Diplomat in the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She joined Kingwood Psychiatry in December 2010. In addition to private practice, she sees inpatient children, adolescent and adult patients at Kingwood Pines Hospital and she is also the Medical Director of the Adolescent Unit.

Jo-Ann Negron NP
Jo-Ann graduated from University of Louisville School of Nursing in May 2000. She worked as a registered nurse at Central State Psychiatric Hospital before joining the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner graduate program at University of Louisville in 2004. After graduating, she worked as an Advanced registered nurse practitioner at University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center Behavioral Health Service Outpatient Clinic for 4 years. She joined Kingwood Psychiatry in August 2009. She has received Graduate School Deans Citation Award and was a recipient of The Excellence in Nursing Education Award of Sigma Theta Tau, Iota Zeta Chapter. She has served as the Vice-president of Kentucky National Association of Hispanic Nurses from 2001-03. She was also the recipient of Golden Key National Honor Society. Jo-Ann focus on comprehensive assessments and medication management for adolescents and adults.

Sarah Meade NP
Sarah Meade is a nurse practitioner originally from Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Bellarmine College with a bachelor's degree in nursing in 1995. She worked as a floor nurse in a state mental health facility for 10 years, during which time she also taught nursing school. She obtained her Masters/Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Louisville in 2005 and went to work for 3 years in underserved areas in rural Kentucky. After moving to Texas she worked for UT HCPC for 2 1/2 years and spent another 6 months working for M.D. Anderson. She joined the Kingwood Psychiatry team in November, 2010.

Aaron Byrd
Aaron Byrd is one of our latest additions at Kingwood Psychiatry whose background includes being educated and receiving his degree from the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center of Houston. He worked initially as a psychiatric nurse at Kingwood Pines Hospital and later as a supervisor, responsible for the safety and well being for up to 100 clients in the acute care settings. He is ambitious, dedicated and a committed team player with a desire to continue helping patients improve their quality of life. Aaron assists Dr. Venkatesh with patients. They work very closely together to provide the necessary treatment for their patients.
